Atmospheric Noise Propagation Mapping

Atmospheric Noise Propagation Mapping

AAD use a number of numerical noise mapping techniques including Braunstein & Berndt's "Soundplan" application.

This capability allows us to make noise predictions upon geo-based data and publish findings according to a very wide range of national standards including the production of a range of noise map types for road noise, railroad noise, industrial noise, aircraft noise, indoor factory noise, and air pollution dispersion.

This mapping procedure has been used, for example, at Public Inquiry into the M20 highway to evaluate performance of barriers and porous asphalt road surface type.
