Co-founder Applied Acoustic Design 1990
Mark was responsible during the early 1990's for the detailed acoustic design necessary to support the fitting out of a major London building (suitably addressed 1 Bishops Square) with a cost plan amounting to £50m in 50 weeks.
That was when £50m was a lot of money for a fit out; the scheme included part conversion of an upper floor area to double storey height for auditorium purposes; also included were a major teleconferencing hall, numerous meeting rooms and cellular office suites used as international headquarters.
Mark's experience in supporting the acoustic design and construction needs for Law Firms, Accounting Companies, Commercial and Retail Banking including dealing rooms in London and elsewhere and with over 2,000,000 square foot to his name is very probably unsurpassable.
In the entertainment sector Mark has been responsible for the design of a number of recording, broadcast and music education facilities, ranging from Capital Radio's studios on Charing Cross Road to the prestigious €60M Cork School of Music. Following the opening concert held in the new Curtis Auditorium, Cork's School of Music has received much critical praise from performers and press alike. Mark has also been involved in the acoustic design of several service intensive data-farm projects, providing advice at planning stage through to detail design.
